Researchers at the Institute for Advanced Study, Emory University and the Weizmann Institute of Science recently set out to model how humans represent meaningful narratives and store them in their memory, using mathematical objects known as "random trees." Their paper, published in Physical Review Letters, introduces a new framework for the study of human memory processes, which is rooted in mathematics, computer science and physics.
